RULES & REGULATIONS  

                                                              

1. NAME

The forum shall be called, the Brighton Sudanese Taxi Drivers Forum.

2. PURPOSES.

·                    To communicate our values into every situation with which we are involved and to be able to put forward our point of views.

·                    To believe that lives of the Sudanese taxi drivers and other black and minority ethnic taxi drivers can be changed for the better

·                    To strengthen the relationship between drivers and brake the barriers.

·                    To integrate as British citizens from different ethnic backgrounds

·                    To empower individual taxi drivers to change their own communities for the better through gaining the opportunity of voicing their view in a practical way

3. MEMBERSHIP

·                    Membership of the forum shall be open to such taxi driver persons who profess and agree to our core values, purpose and vision.

·                    Membership can be determined in according with the rules and the regulations of the forum

4. MANAGING TEAM

Managing team should have 6 members formed of a chairman, an accountant, a secretary and 3 other members who would run the daily forum business

5. THE CHAIRMAN

The managing team members must elect one of their members to be chairman of their meetings and shall determine the period for which the person so elected is to continue as chairman.

6. POWER AND RESPONSIBLITY

The managing team has the power to deal with the following issues within the forum whenever it is possible and is needed.

1.             staff and volunteers.

2.             property.

3.             borrowing.

4.             grants and loans

5.             fund raising.

6.             publicity

7.             bank or building society accounts

8.             investments

9.             insurance.

   

7. OTHER ORGANISATIONS

·        When exercising any power in administering or managing the forum each of the managing team members must use the level of care and skill that is reasonable in the circumstances, taking into account any special knowledge or experience that he/she has or claims to have (the duty of care).

·        A managing team member must absent himself/herself from any discussions of the managing team in which a conflict will or may arise between his/her duty to act solely in the interests of the forum and any personal interest

8. TERMINATION OF MANAGING TEAM

A managing team member will cease to be a managing team member if he or she:

·        is disqualified according to the rules and regulations of the forum

·        becomes incapable by reason of mental disorder, illness or injury

·        is absent without the permission of the managing team members from all of their meetings held with a period of 3 consecutive months

·        gives not less than 1 months notice in writing of his or her intention to resign.

9. FORUM OF GENERAL MEETINGS

·        There shall be an annual general meeting of the forum in October each year, The managing team shall present to the annual general meeting their report and the accounts of the forum for the preceding year.

·        The election or appointment of the forum officers shall take place at the forum general meetings

·        The notice of each general meeting must be given to the members of the forum at least 21 days before the meeting.

·        The exceptional general meeting shall take place by request of 20 members of the forum

10. AMENDMENT OF THE RULES AND REGULA TIONS

Any amendment must be made under the authority of a resolution passed at a meeting of the members of the forum of which not less than 21 days notice has been given. .The notice of the meeting must include notice of amendment and must be approved by a least 75% of the members of the forum present
